Alejo Garcia passed away peacefully at his residence in San Antonio on August 17, 2022. He was born on January 30, 1929, in San Antonio, to Jose and Maria Garcia. Alejo is now reunited with his loving wife of 70 years Asencion Garcia. Alejo married Asencion in1952 and together they had four children. He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Flores (Johnny) and Rita Campos (Gilbert Fuentes), son, Reyne Garcia, Grandchildren, John Flores (Barbie), Jacob Flores (Shandra), Bianca Reyes (Manny), Benjamin Fuentes (Melody), Justin Garcia, Gracie Garcia, and Rebecca Garcia; and 15 great-grandchildren. Also, by his favorite Sister-in-law Irene Delacruz, numerous, nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Alejo was preceded in death by his son, Ralph Garcia, and his granddaughter, Sonia Flores, and all his brothers and sisters. Mr. Garcia proudly served in the United States Navy. He then joined the United States Post Office as a mail carrier for the downtown area of San Antonio. He worked there for many years until his retirement. Mr. Garcia was a wonderful father and loved to coach for his children in sports. He was a self-taught “Jack of All Trades”. He was always ready to help anyone that needed him. He had many friends and was well-loved. He loved to play golf. He played every chance he got and if you were looking for him, he was either playing golf, fishing at the coast, or watching any sports he could find on TV. The family would like to thank the nurses from Trinity Hospice Care. And a special thank you to Nurse, Abrum and Nurse, Maria (just to name a few) for their wonderful and compassionate care towards our Dad. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, from 6:00pm-9:00pm, with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 9:30am at the funeral home chapel, followed by interment at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
