With heavy hearts, we announce that our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Angelita Perez Duque, peacefully went home to be with the lord on July 1, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 91. Angelita was born on April 18, 1935, in Goliad, Texas, to Apolinar and Balbina Perez. She later married the love of her life, David C. Duque Sr., and together they built a loving home and raised 5 children. Angelita was a quiet, reserved, humble, and devoted woman whose love was shown through her actions more than her words. She dedicated her life to her husband and family. Her greatest joy was caring for her children and making sure they always knew they were supported. No matter how busy life became, she made it a priority to attend their school activities, functions, and milestones always cheering them on with quiet pride. She worked for 30 years at the San Antonio State Hospital before retiring. She was known for her strong work ethic, dependability, and compassionate spirit. Those who knew Angelita will remember her gentle heart, kind smile, and selfless nature. She found happiness in being surrounded by her family and was happiest when everyone was together. Her strength, grace, and unwavering love created a lasting legacy that will continue through the generations she leaves behind. Angelita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David C. Duque Sr.; her daughter Rachel Duque; her sons Oscar O. Duque and Carlos Duque; her parents Apolinar and Balbina Perez; and her sister Carmen Perez Garcia. She is survived by her son David Duque Jr.; daughter, Rosario Duque; her cherished grandchildren, Stephanie M. Duque, Charles A. Duque, and J. Alex Chavez; her treasured great-grandchildren, Sabastian Zubia and Gregory C. Vazquez-Duque, along with many extended family members and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Angelita's quiet strength, unconditional love, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten. We find comfort knowing she has been reunited with the love of her life, her children who went before her, and is resting peacefully in the presence of the Lord.
