Anita Esquivel Reyes June 25, 1932---September 18, 2025 Our loving mother Anita went peacefully to her eternal rest at the age of 93 on September 18, 2025. She was born on June 25, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Jose and Josefa Esquivel. Our mother was preceded in death by her brothers Gabriel, Pablo, Mauro, and Alejandro Esquivel. She is survived by her five children, Sylvia (Raul) Rodriguez, Steve Reyes, Sandra (Tino deceased) Costello, Loretta (Mike Garza), and Elena (Arthur) Llanez. Mom was also a grandmother to ten grandchildren: Jennifer, Raul, Pamela, Kevin, Kristian, Serenity, Adam, Melody, Robin, Nic, Lyla and a great grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren: Sophie, Benjamin, Wren, Isla, Sara, Isabella, Ezra, Draven, Nathan, Mariah, Adrian and Amelia. She is also survived by two brothers Joe Esquivel, Jesse (Gloria) Esquivel and three sisters Inez Flores, Teresa (Humberto) Rodriguez, and Yolanda (Jose) Zuniga and numerous nieces and nephews. Our mother was active in the school P.T.A. when we were in elementary school and also participated as a room mother. Throughout our elementary years Mom would get together with other moms at Benny's Café and started the Mom's Coffee Club located at Empire Plaza many years ago. At St. Stephen's Catholic Church, she served in the Altar Society and was a member of the Guadalupanas. Later in her life she became a devoted parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She attended daily mass without fail. Mom enjoyed participating in many of the church's festivities. Our mother was known for her stylish dressing and her jewelry collection. She made friends everywhere she went and could recall the names of many people that she had met throughout her lifetime. Mom was proud of all her children's accomplishments. But to her the grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her the most joy. She would tell us that the Lord had blessed her with a wonderful family. She will be remembered as a woman of great faith and for the love of her family. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. with a rosary to begin at 6:00p.m. at Alamo Funeral Home, 624 N. Alamo, San Antonio, Texas 78215. A Funeral Procession will depart Alamo Funeral Home at 9:30a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 10:00a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1321 El Paso St. San Antonio Texas 78207 . Interment to follow at San Fernando III, 1735 Cupples Rd. San Antonio, Texas 78226
