Clara Ortiz (57) was born November 29, 1964, in San Antonio, TX. She went to be with our Lord on July 31, 2022, in San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, David, and Aurora Gutierrez; mother and father-in-law, Manuel and Susie Ortiz; sister, Mary Jane Lira; brother, Daniel Gutierrez; God daughters, Placida Ybarra and Jennifer Nicole Christenson and sister in laws Gina Sue Ortiz and Rachael Gutierrez. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Randall Ortiz; sisters, Aurora Ybarra (Eddie), Lucia Aragon (Julian); brothers, David Gutierrez Jr., and Jose Manuel Gutierrez (Christy); godchildren, Matthew Cassiano, Jake Daniel Rodriguez, Duane Bang Ludwig Jr., Allyson Haskins, Blanca Vasquez, Lauren Clara Perez, Sammantha Gutierrez, Sofia Villarreal, Lydia Raine Santos, and Jade Ludwig. Clara was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Clara was married for 38 great years to her best friend and confidant Randy Ortiz. Clara and Randy met when they were young teenagers and lived on the same street. They married young but were forever committed to each other. They traveled together often, they loved entertaining, going out to new restaurants, watching sports on TV and in person and being the best Aunt and Uncle to their family. They have always been thought of highly and were selected to be Godparents to 12 children. This says so much about her and Randy and their commitment to family. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Spurs fan; she collected an abundance of mementos to display her pride. She was the best party planner, loved disco balls and loved to dance. She is known for her unapologetically loud display of love, contagious laugh, and signature hairdo. Fiesta time was a favorite of hers as she looked forward to collecting Fiesta medals with her husband and nieces. Clara was a deeply religious woman who prayed to the saints for everyone that she loved. She was a loving caregiver to her parents and in-laws and saw them through to the very end with never a complaint. She was a caregiver to her sister-in-law, who also preceded her in death and had several clients she was working with that loved her as their own because of the care that she gave to each of them. It wasn’t a job, but more like a daily visit to people she loved and cared for. Most importantly she was a devoted wife who loved her husband more than words. Clara was loved by so many and will be deeply missed. Services Visitation will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Brookehill Funeral Home from 4pm – 8pm with a rosary to be recited at 6pm. A Chapel Service with take place Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Brookehill Funeral Home at 9:00am with interment to follow at Mission Burial Park Sout
