Delia G. Garza, born on May 29, 1943, in San Antonio, TX to Rodolfo and Ramona Gonzales, went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2025, at the blessed age of 81. Delia lived a life marked by love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family. She was the proud mother of five children and for a while, she was a single mother who worked hard to provide for her young children. With a heart full of compassion, Delia spent many years as a Foster Grandparent, where she found true fulfillment rocking babies and surrounding them with warmth and care. She called Baytown home for a while and created lasting memories with her grandchildren every summer, taking them to lunch, the mall, and always making sure their days were filled with laughter and love. She never forgot a birthday, no matter how large the family grew. She was the foundation of our family - faithful, steady, and always the one who brought us together. Her home was a sanctuary, her arms always open, and her prayers constant for every one of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She held special pride in that both her sons served in the US military. Delia's deepest wish was that her family remain close and continue to love and respect one another wholeheartedly, even after her passing. She is now reunited in heaven with her parents; her beloved husband, Antonio Colunga Jr.; son, Ramiro Silva Jr.; granddaughter, Melissa Godina-Contreras; stepson, Armando Colunga; and siblings Rodolfo Gonzales, Edward Gonzales, Diana Gonzales and Carmina Garcia. She is lovingly remembered and missed by her children: Lisa Gonzalez (Stan), Mary Jane Van Cleave (Raymon), Lt. Col. Alfred Silva (Paula) and Linda Roberts (Mark); stepson Antonio Colunga III (Liza); her brother Paul Gonzales (Delma); sister-in-law Rosa Gonzales; grandchildren: Eric Gonzalez, Felicia Perez, Joshua Gonzalez, Jacob Gracia, Christina Gracia, Gabrielle Godina, Meghan Silva, Jourdan Silva, Reagan Silva, Nicole Frederick, Lauren Roberts, and Lindsay Roberts; numerous great-grandchildren; and many other cherished family members and friends. Heaven has truly gained a treasured soul. Delia will live forever in our hearts. As she often said: “I pray for and love all my grandchildren and great-grandchildren and love hearing all the stories about your lives from your parents.”
