Irene Faye Benavidez was vivacious, incredibly strong, humorous, loving, compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and overall amazing person. Born and raised in the Houston- Westbury area, Irene grew up with an abundance of people providing love and support through every and triumph and tribulation she had in her life. She always had friends or family by her side, proving enough memories for everyone to last a lifetime. Irene had so many passions in life, her favorites being reading novels, traveling with her family, gardening, and loving every single dog she owned as if they were another child. Irene loved to love things, even as a young girl, she fell in love with Ice Skating, Skiing and loved watching and competing in all sports in general, even managing to rank highly for participation in the Olympics at a young age. Irene loved to give everything she had in everything she did and inspired a multitude of people in her life to do the same. Her love of helping people eventually led her to aspire to be a lawyer, and her thirst for knowledge fatefully led her to meet her True Love Victor while studying at school. The love between them was too strong for even the quietest protest and shortly after they were married and started their family together. Irene always had a way of pushing through life's curve-balls with grace, dignity, strength, courage and tact and it was those characteristics she shared with Victor as they made the decision together to move away from their childhood towns to San Antonio. Thirty years of marriage, seventeen years of building memories, embarking on spontaneous adventures and touching so many lives of friends and second families in San Antonio, we know she is proud to have made that leap so many years ago. Irene's family is what inspired her to keep pushing every single day and she will be survived by her Husband Victor Benavidez, Children Ashley and Jourdan Kueker and Nathan Benavidez, Grandson Seth Pellerin, Mother Morlyn Binder, Brothers Marc and Robin Binder and Louis Binder, and of course she has and will live vicariously through a host of Nieces, Nephews and all the impromptu pseudo children she had loved in her life. And of course her cherished dogs Beau and Axel, she loved her boys.
