REINHARD Irene Salzman Reinhard, born on June 26, 1931, passed away on December 17, 2008 after a years struggle with cancer. She was married to Erwin Arthur Reinhard on August 11, 1951 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. They celebrated their golden anniversary by renewing their vows at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church in 2001 with Rev. Joseph Tarrillion, S.M. presiding. The friendship between Father Joe, Irene and Erwin extended from their student days together at St. Cecilia's Parochial School. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Regina Salzman; brother, Melvin Francis, killed as a Japanese prisoner of war in WWII; sister, Grace Henze; and granddaughter, Jennifer Cunningham. She is survived by her husband, Erwin; daughter, Lt Col Ann Cunningham, USAF Ret., and her husband, Larry Harris; daughter, Lisa Dangler and her husband John, and their daughters, Elizabeth and Mary Kate; son, Erwin John Reinhard; son, Francis Reinhard and his wife Kathy, and their sons Anthony and Nelson; daughter, Tracie Henchy; and daughter Katherine Rye and her husband Loyd. The family spent 27 years in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where her husband, Erwin taught Electrical Engineering and served as Associate Dean of Engineering for several years. In addition to raising a family, Irene was very active in church work at the St. Francis Student Center Chapel and at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Over the years she served several stints as President of the Altar Society. Irene was very adept at all forms of sewing and associated handwork. She made many beautiful pieces to adorn their home and gifts for friends and relatives. Irene was an excellent cook and introduced her "Original Texas Chili" recipe in a "Cookbook by the University of Alabama Women's Club" SERVICES Visitation will be held on Monday-December 22, 2008 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary recited at 7:00PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday-December 23, 2008 at 9:30AM at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Dr., San Antonio, TX 78229. Interment will follow at Ft.
