Murphy Our Beloved Wife, Momma, Mother-in-law, Gramma, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend to all, Jeanette Emily Brown Murphy, went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2007, surrounded by her family. She was born to Clinton G. and Opal L. Ervin Brown on August 7, 1940 in San Antonio. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Mildred. She is survived by her husband Charles Murphy, daughter Stephanie; Son and daughter -in-law Michael and Dina; 2 grandsons Manny and Joseph; one sister Mary Johnson; her niece: Annette and her sons Jason and Trey; and her niece Lynette, partner Cliff and daughters Amber, Brandi and Sammy Jo. Jeanette never met a stranger. She had an innate ability to cultivate, lifelong friendships. In 1957 she was crowned the South Texas Vegetable Queen. In later years she would be the Chairwoman for the Pageant. She was a 1958 graduate of Southside High School. She began her working career for City Public Service in 1959. During this time she married Charles Murphy. They were married for 45 years. After her children, Michael and Stephanie were born, her life long dream of becoming a Mom was fulfilled, and she filled her days caring for them. She returned to the work force in 1980 as a private duty nurse caring for the elderly. Caring for people fit her nature well and she touched many lives. In 1995, she became a Mary Kay Consultant, and immensely enjoyed the friendships she made. She dearly loved her clients and continued representing Mary Kay for the rest of her life. Above all, the most important part of Momma's life was family. She dearly loved her husband Charlie, her daughter Stephanie, her son Michael, her daughter in law Dina, her grandsons Manny and Joseph, her sister Mary, her nieces Annette and Lynette, and their children. She loved her many, many friends. She was a continuous member of the same Bunco Club for over 40 years and cherished the friendships she made. Her additional passions were music, dancing, genealogy, gardening, birds, working 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles with her dear sister "Sissy" and RV'ing. She was well on her way to visiting all 50 states. Our dear Momma will be missed so very, very much. She was the heart and soul of our family. To know her was to love her. Our hearts ache but we know she is in the presence of the Lord... and for that we rejoice. We love you Momma... you are in our hearts forever and ever. The family would like to thank Northeast Baptist ICU and Vitas Hospice for their loving care of our dear Momma.
