It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all, Jerry Kennedy. Jerry passed away peacefully at his home after a brief illness with his beloved wife of 69 years, Kay by his side. Jerry lived life on his own terms and brought many a smile to everyone he met. Jerry had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a quick one-liner. He loved watching his favorite sports on TV accompanied by his favorite cigars. Jerry enjoyed his “Man Cave” before that was even a thing. Jerry enjoyed watching sports but his passion was music. Learning to play guitar at a young age, Jerry pursued his passion playing in a 3 man band during Hemisfair. This led to playing music around San Antonio as a professional musician. He was filled with pride when his son Michael became an accomplished drummer playing large venues with big name acts and receiving national recognition. Jerry proudly served his country enlisting in the Air Force and after completing his Military service, Jerry worked 30 years civil service as an Airplane mechanic at Kelly AFB. Jerry adored his family and was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved them all unconditionally. He was preceded in death by his Son Michael Aubrey Kennedy. He is survived by his wife, Kay Kennedy, Daughter, Cheryl Perez and her husband Mario; 10 Grandchildren, James Linder (Matt), Michelle Barrett, Michael Barrett, Stephanie Perez (Clarissa), Mario Perez, Tyler Kennedy (Liz), Logan Kennedy, Andrew Kennedy; 11 Great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Tao, Marlee, Emma, Ava, Jerry, Michaela, Osten, Camden, Rowan, and Mason. Daughters-in-Law, Veronica and Margaret. Jerry will also be missed by his beloved kitty cats, Ruggy, Security and Blackie. On Sunday, November 9, 2025 Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. followed by the Service at 2:00 P.M. at Mission Park Medical Center, 8332 Fredericksburg Road, San Antonio, TX 78229. On Monday, November 10, 2025 the Graveside Service with Military Honors will begin at 9:45 A.M. at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at Shelter 5, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road.
