Juan Morin went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2021, at the blessed age of 82, in San Antonio, TX. He was born on July 22, 1939 in Eagle Pass, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Gabriela Morin, his sisters, Berta Diaz, and Maria Ines Castro. Juan will be missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Maria Garcia Morin; daughter, Nyomi Rendon Morin; sons Juan Marcos Morin (Siobhan), Gabriel Morin (Jeanette); sister Marta Romero (Oscar); brother, Roberto Morin (Lori), 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and extended family and friends. A husband and father who was a hardworking man. When he was young, he and his family would pick produce off the fields and trees “Del Norte”. When he became a young man and prior to his marriage, he became a roofer, working, at times, seven days a week to support his young family. He went onto truck driving where he would that until retirement. He was a man filled with integrity and character. He was a jack-of-all-trades, doing his own repairs on vehicles, plumbing, and landscaping. He appreciated the outdoors, spending many hours on the yard, planting flowers, pruning trees, and at times growing a vegetable garden. He could never just sit. He also worked hard at passing his knowledge of the world to his children and anyone who would listen, although at times it was not receptive and appreciated, looking forward, they were pearls of wisdom. He loved to recount and tell stories of his childhood and “glory” days in the military and young adulthood prior to him having children. He was a fickle and an inflexible man, but was well intended and showed love in ways that was unrecognizable. He enjoyed lending a hand to all and was active in his faith and church. He was involved in church ministries that involved helping the elderly and jailed. If you ever felt that you knew Juan Morin, you didn’t, even to his family. Quiet, private and reserved, he was a herculean of a man. He was active until about the last year of his life. He will be missed by his wife, children, and family. The world is looking bigger without him. Visitation will be Monday, August 23, 2021 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. A Funeral Mass will partake on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Leonard’s Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Mission Burial Park South.
