Lisa Gail Gibbens went to her heavenly home on June 14, 2026. She was 64 years of age. Lisa was born in Houston, TX on March 30, 1962, to Paul and Betty Carter. She was a resident of the Houston, TX area until her retirement in 2020 when she moved to the Texas Hill Country. Lisa graduated from North Shore High School in 1980 and was a member of the Scarlets drill team and National Honor Society. Shortly after graduation, she joined Shell Oil Company where she met her loving husband, Pat Gibbens. She was a dedicated mother to her two children, Adam and Courtney, and granddaughter, Sydney. Upon her graduation in 1980, Lisa began her career with Shell Oil Company. She served as an Administrative Assistant for 40 years and was highly ranked and rated every year, emerging as a leader among fellow administrative staff. Lisa mentored countless students and Administrative Assistants throughout her career, sharing her knowledge with everyone she met. She had an amazing attention to detail, impeccable organization and dedication to her various teams she supported. At work and home, she brought warmth to every room she entered. Lisa’s greatest love was her family. Lisa was a loving wife, devoted mother, and beloved Mimi. She was the heart of her home and family, and lived to make every occasion special and memorable. She loved spending time with her children and precious granddaughter. She found true happiness by making others feel special. Lisa enjoyed spoiling her children, granddaughter, and extended family with special gifts for each occasion. She enjoyed hosting family at her Hill Country home. Her proudest moments and fondest memories were having her family all together. Lisa was dedicated to the Baptist Church. From childhood through early adulthood, she was a member of Uvalde Baptist Church. From adulthood to retirement, she was a member of Tallowood Baptist Church. Lisa was always the first person to lend a helping hand; she was warm, selfless, compassionate, and forgiving. Her ability to withhold judgement fostered a safe environment for everyone she spoke with. It was Lisa’s mission in life to be a blessing to others - to be the hands and feet of Christ. She admirably fulfilled that mission. After her family, Lisa’s next love was Christmas. Lisa’s Christmas preparation began in July. She even included a special Christmas storage closet when designing her and Pat’s retirement home. Lisa was known for her Christmas baking. Together with her children, she made Christmas treats for family, friends, coworkers, her mailman, delivery drivers, sanitation workers and her hairdresser. She made sure no one was left out. Lisa collected ornaments throughout her lifetime and every year she hung ornaments together with her family. She would reminisce on the memories each one held. Lisa found fulfillment in surprising her family with wonderful gifts, always ensuring everyone’s stocking was overflowing with gifts and treats. Lisa wanted each family member to have lots of gifts that were personal and unique. Her goal was to have the entire living room covered in torn up wrapping paper by the end of Christmas. Lisa enjoyed a wonderful childhood growing up in North Shore. Her parents took her and her two siblings, Janice and Paul, on annual two to three week road trips across the country every summer, which made for great adventures and a lifetime of memories. Lisa’s wish was to give her own children a wonderful childhood like she had, and she succeeded. Lisa and her family enjoyed many vacations throughout her lifetime. They spent every summer together in Galveston where they enjoyed wonderful food, fishing and swimming. She lived a life full of adventure. Lisa was everyone’s best friend. She had a warmth and compassion that drew people to her. Lisa was so full of love and selflessness and had the ability to provide comfort to everyone she met. Her best friends were her family. Lisa and Pat enjoyed spending quality time together in retirement. Pat was her soulmate. They frequently travelled throughout the surrounding Hill Country towns to enjoy the beautiful scenery. They often visited Fredericksburg to enjoy wine, food and laughter together. In her retirement she was finally able to enjoy the fruits of her labor. Lisa and Adam spent every Sunday together. They would cook together, laugh together and spend quality time together. Lisa was Adam’s biggest cheerleader. Lisa and Courtney came as a pair. Lisa had the honor of being Courtney’s Matron of Honor at her wedding. The bond Lisa had with Courtney was rare and filled with pure love. They were each other’s closest confidant. Their souls will forever be connected. Lisa is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Pat Gibbens; son: Adam Gibbens; daughter: Courtney Just (husband: Joshua); granddaughter: Sydney Just; brother: Paul Carter, Jr. (wife: Kelly); nephews: Jason Wilson (wife: Amanda); Randall Wilson (wife: Louise); Bradley Wilson (wife: Edna); Austin Wilson (wife: Ely); Tyler Wilson (wife: Melissa) and Paul Carter, III; niece: Kandice Morales (husband: Matt); grandnieces: Giselle Resendez, Kinley Wilson, Carra Wilson, Sofia Wilson, Camilla Wilson and Gianna Wilson; and grandnephews: Pierce Wilson, Broden Morales, Nikolas Wilson and Logan Morales. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Betty Carter, sister, Janice Wilson, and grandparents, Jessie and Edna Carter, Cleo Mitchell and Wilbur Hall. Lisa loved God and her family with all her heart. She taught her children to love the Lord, and to serve others. Lisa blessed countless people over her lifetime. She had a heart of gold and will forever be remembered as the angel who blessed everyone that crossed paths with her. Lisa’s legacy is not the things she did, but how she made all of us feel. Lisa will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. All expressions of sympathy, including flowers, cards, and honorary donations to a favorite charity are welcome and profoundly appreciated.
