It is with a heavy heart that the Kosub family announces the passing of Lucy M. Kosub on June 3, 2024. Lucy was born in Saint Hedwig, Texas on August 14, 1935 to Michael and Sophie Padalecki. Lucy married her soulmate and the love of her life Theophil (Phil) on September 15,1951 at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Saint Hedwig. They were married for 38 years before Phil's passing on January 27,1990. Lucy enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and was a great lover of being outdoors, especially taking care of her yard and her beautiful flower beds. Lucy spent many enjoyable hours with Phil on their family farm near St. Hedwig raising cattle and harvesting hay. She always had the most beautiful vegetable garden and was very thoughtful to share her homegrown vegetables with everybody. Lucy so enjoyed Friday nights when family and friends would congregate at her home to enjoy a game of cards or dominoes and her home cooking. Lucy is survived by her children Gerald (Judy) Kosub, Thomas (Lorraine) Kosub, Paul (Martha) Kosub, Jane (John) Wallace, Sharon (John) Wyatt, Doris (Michael) Kotara and daughter-in-law, Janet (Kosub) Gillaspie, and her siblings, Ben Padalecki, Alice Wight, Clifford Padalecki, Bernice Volkmann, Albert Padalecki and Margie Lyro, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Phil Kosub, her son, Ronald Kosub, her brother, Nicholas Padalecki, her sister-in-law, Bernice Padalecki, her brother-in-law George (Roy) Wight, her granddaughter, Sarah Kenedy and her great granddaughter Landry Scurlock. Our Mom, also known as, Nana, Granny and Great Grandma was a loving wife, a great mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a natural caretaker. Lucy will be dearly missed. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Rikki, Patti, Lou, Connie, Janie, Carmen, Ashley and all the staff for the excellent care that Lucy received from Brookdale Kingsley. In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions in her memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Pallbearers for Lucy's services will be, Ben "Butch" Padalecki Jr., Franklin Moore, Douglas Dirks, Roy Wight III, Mark Aniol, and Brandon Kotara. Thank you for helping the family during a difficult time. A visitation will be held Tuesday June 18, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm to be recited at Dellcrest Funeral Home, 2023 S. WW White Road, San Antonio, Texas 78222. Visitation will begin the following day, June 19, 2024 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at The Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 14011 FM 1346, St. Hedwig, Texas 78152. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. The burial will follow at the St. Hedwig Cemetery.
