With deep love and gentle sorrow, the family of Margaret Rose Batista Granados announces her peaceful passing at home on August 3, 2026, at 2:03 in the morning. She was 95 years old. Surrounding her in those final moments were her last surviving son, Rudy Valentino Granados; her devoted daughter-in-law, Lori Little Granados; and her two beloved grandchildren, Sarah and Kathryn - a quiet circle of the family she had cherished her entire life. Born and raised in San Antonio, Margaret graduated from Roosevelt High School and soon after met the love of her life, Rudy Granados. They married in their early twenties and together welcomed twin sons, Rudy and Johnny. For Margaret, home and family were everything. She poured her heart into creating a warm and steady life for those she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband Rudy and their son Johnny, and is now survived by her son Rudy, daughter-in-law Lori, granddaughters Sarah and Kathryn, and her precious great-granddaughter Alina, the first child of her son-in-law Luis Ramos and Granddaughter Kathryn. Margaret worked with quiet dedication as a secretary-first at Retail Merchants, later for oral surgeon Dr. Anthony Sertich, and finally at Santa Rosa Hospital. Yet her truest vocation was the loving care of her family and home. She lived a happy, unassuming life marked by gentleness, faithfulness, and deep devotion. In later years she found special joy in traveling to Europe with her sister Hortense and dear friends. She returned again and again to Italy, Austria, and Germany, and held particularly tender memories of Rome, where she had the privilege of meeting Pope John Paul II and visiting the Vatican. Of all the places she saw, the Amalfi Coast and its sunlit coastal towns remained closest to her heart. Margaret was a loving wife, a devoted mother, a cherished grandmother, and a proud great-grandmother. Those who knew her will remember the quiet strength and steady affection she gave so freely. Though her family feels the deep sadness of her absence, they also hold immense joy in the certainty that Margaret is now safely home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and God the Father. A visitation will be held at Mission Park Medical Center on Fredericksburg Road in San Antonio from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 13, 2026 with the rosary to beign at 6:00 PM. This will be followed by Mass at St. Matthew's Catholic Church on Wurzbach Road Friday, August 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM . The family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who shared love, friendship, and kindness with Margaret Rose Batista Granados throughout her long and gentle life. Her memory will remain a blessing.
