Maria Yolanda Niño, born February 10, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas entered eternal rest on February 2, 2026 at the age of 80. She was called into the arms of our Lord while surrounded by the love and presence of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Villarreal Galindo and Genaro Galindo, her husband Carlos Niño, her sister Carmen Perez, and her brother Genaro “Jerry” Galindo Jr. She lived a life of faith, service, and quiet strength, caring for others as a nurse aide and dedicating more than 25 years as a Lead Caterer for Bill Miller’s BBQ. Her dedication, integrity, and steady leadership earned the respect and admiration of coworkers and staff. She led by example and took pride in her work. Remembered for her grace, devotion to family, and servant’s heart, Yolanda’s love and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will forever live in the hearts of those who were around her. She shared a life with her siblings, Carmen Perez, Genaro Galindo Jr., Rosalinda “Masi” Lopez (Lisa), Janie Galindo, Celia Huron (Tony), Virginia Galindo, Teri Hughes (Mark), and Roy Galindo. She was a devoted mother to Rebecca Hernandez (Jesse), Albert Lopez (Diane), Adolph Lopez, Bertha Vidales (Joe), Olivia Peralta, and Yolanda Miller (Adam), and a loving stepmother to Rosalie Cavazos (Thomas), Carlos Niño Jr. (Lisa), and Gloria Pridemore (Kenneth). Blessed with a large and loving family, Yolanda leaves behind a legacy that spans generations as a cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother with a total of 65 grandchildren. Yolanda was a source of strength, love and guidance, and her presence shaped lives in ways words can barely express. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit lives in the lessons she taught, the love she gave so freely, and the countless memories we will forever carry in our hearts. Pallbearers will be Andrew Polendo-Perez, Angel Santiago, Brian Lopez, Christopher Flores, Eric Lopez, Jacob Hernandez, Orlando Martinez, and Randy Sambrano. Athen Miller and Adam Miller will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Yolanda leaves a legacy of love, service, and strength - she was a faithful servant of the Lord. We celebrate as she rejoices in heaven, reunited with her beloved husband in the presence of God. May her memory be a source of comfort and peace, and her legacy be an inspiration for generations to come. Services for Yolanda Niño: A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 10th at 5:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, located at 1700 SE Military Dr., San Antonio, TX 78214 with The Rosary to follow at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue the following morning, February 11th at 7:00 AM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. The Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, February 11th at 8:00 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 236 E. Petaluma Blvd., San Antonio, TX 78221. Following the Mass, burial services will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, with the service beginning at 9:30 AM.
