In loving memory, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt Mina. She was a very loving mother to two boys. Marina’s life was a testament to her unwavering love for family and strong bonds with her 4sisters and brother. She was born in San Antonio, went to school at St Joseph Catholic School and graduated from South San High School in 1967. A devout Catholic, she found solace in her faith, holding a deep affection for God, Jesus, and Our Lady of Guadalupe. She was an active member of St Joseph South San, St Luke Catholic Church, and Prince of Peace. She participated and Directed an ACTS Retreat. Marina dedicated her professional life to social work, making a lasting impact at Parent Child Incorporated until her well-deserved retirement. Her genuine compassion touched the lives of all she encountered, earning her widespread love and admiration. Her vibrant spirit extended beyond work, as she actively engaged in various clubs such as Guadalupanas, Red Hatters, the Senior Citizen Group, Sewing Club, and cherished moments with her Bunco Friends. She was a woman of many passions, found joy in life through her love for dancing and listening to Mariachis. Her cooking skills were second to none, which brought warmth to the hearts of all those she cared for, creating delicious meals filled with love. She especially enjoyed making Christmas Tamales and Bunuelos with the family. In moments of relaxation, she enjoyed unwinding by watching her NOVELAS. Marina’s enthusiasm for life was evident in her love of vacations, creating lasting memories with both family and friends. The echoes of her laughter and her vibrant smile will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who loved her. Marina Villagran leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and meaningful connections. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace. Marina is preceded in death by her parents, Luis & Dolores Villagran. She is survived by her two sons, Reno (Cathy) Puente and David (Mary Jane) Puente both still in San Antonio. She had 10 grandchildren: Tiffany, Craig, Reno III, Krystal, David James, Mireya, Elysia, Anastacia, Mariela, & Emelia. She also had 3 great-grandchildren: Anthony, Bloom & Kenji. A visitation will be held on Wednesday March 13, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday March 14, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Mission Burial Park South.
