CHAPA On March 31, 2011, our beloved Wife, Sister, Aunt & Daughter lost her courageous fight against cancer. Mary Lou Alanis was born on March 4, 1937 to Perfecto and Elia Alanis. She was the eldest of 4 children. On April 30, 1966, Mary Lou married Rodolfo R. Chapa and they were still married until her passing. Affectionately known as "Aunt Lulu" by her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, Aunt Lulu enjoyed spending time with her family and friends which included lifelong friends from Bergs Mill and cousins from Houston, Texas. She also enjoyed traveling and had traveled to Europe several times with her mother whom she loved unequivocally. She had a long career as a civil servant at Kelly Air Force Base and retired after 30 years of dedicated service. She was dedicated to her faith and devoted to the Catholic Church. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her father, Perfecto Alanis, her mother, Elia T. Alanis, her brother, Robert Alanis and her nephew, David Chapa. She is survived by her loving husband, Rodolfo R. Chapa, sisters, Olga R. Salinas Henry and Stella Feliz Harold, sister-in-law, Socorro Chapa, nieces and nephews, Cindi Davilla Bobby, Diana Salinas Romero, Marina Klopher Fred, Catherine Kincade, Hank Salinas Debra, Renee King Lowell, Paul Salinas, Frederick Chapa Heather, Linda Pringle Ryan and treasured great nieces and nephews. Aunt Lulu we will miss you so much. We know you bravely fought this disease and your little body just got tired. Holidays will never be the same without you. We promise to keep your memories alive and to take care of Uncle Rudy. Though our grief is great, we take comfort knowing that you made it to Heaven and were welcomed by Grandpa and Grandma. We love you Aunt Lulu. Visitation will begin on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Brookehill Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church with a procession from the Brookehill Funeral Home.
