Mary Moy Wiatrek, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was peacefully received by the Lord and reunited with her loved ones on July 27, 2018 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 91. Mary was born July 12, 1927 in Poth, TX, to Julian and Sophie Moy. Mom worked for Southwestern Bell and was married on July 20, 1945 to Ben Wiatrek (Pop) upon his return from serving his country in WWII. They chose to begin their life in Poth, TX and later moved to San Antonio to pursue greater educational and career opportunities for their family. Mary raised four children and modeled a strong work ethic as an Avon Consultant for over 30 years, often walking her route through the streets of community wives, delivering her products to advance the well-being of her family and foster the social spirit of her soul. Mom was an avid gardener, raising vegetables to feed her family and cultivating beautiful flower gardens for all to enjoy. In addition to cultivating her gardens, she also helped to raise and cultivate childhood spirits of her grandchildren as well as the many children of friends and family who had blessed her life. Mom’s greatest joy was raising her four boys but had missed the experience of a daughter which spurred her hobbies of sewing for a collection of discarded and forgotten dolls. Mom was preceded in death by her beloved husband and loving father, Ben Wiatrek, two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her sons Ben Jr. Wiatrek (Rhonda), Anthony Wiatrek, Geoffrey Wiatrek (Rebecca), and Richard Wiatrek (Carol); she is also survived by grandchildren Jennifer Wiatrek, Matthew Wiatrek, Evan Wiatrek (Lauren), Heather Wiatrek, Amanda Mayberry (Terry), Chelsea Solis (Nick), Travis Wiatrek and Destiny Mendez (John); great grandchildren Caroline, Logan, Halen, Henley, Raven, Savannah, Kadence, Hailey, Autumn, Leah, Zander, Brooklynn, and Jayla; numerous nieces and nephews and by many other family members and friends too numerous to name. SERVICES Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Brookehill Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Procession will depart the funeral home chapel at 1:15 PM on Friday, August 3, 2018 for a Mass at 2:00 PM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1314 Fair Avenue.
