Mirella “Millie” T. Flores passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a deeply cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness touched countless lives. Mirella immigrated to the United States from Cuba in her twenties and made an art of caring for others. Her home was always open, her kitchen always full, and her heart always ready to give. She found joy in feeding people, caring for children and babies, and making everyone around her feel special and seen. She never met a stranger and gave of herself freely and wholeheartedly—not only to her family, but also to friends who became chosen family, coworkers, and anyone in need. Mirella’s laughter was infectious, and she loved life’s simple joys: playing bingo, dancing, laughing with family and friends, sharing stories, crocheting baby blankets for anyone who asked, donating countless blankets to NICU units for preemies, and praying the rosary every day. Mirella loved with her whole heart, and that love will continue to live on in all who knew her. Mirella is survived by her beloved children: Henry Flores and his wife, Amy Flores; Lorena Knight and her husband, Matthew Knight; and Lisa Jones and her husband, Christopher Jones. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Noah Knight and his wife, Madison Gilbert; Megan Jones and her husband, Devon Van Epps; Macey Knight; Payton Jones and her partner, Steve Kuhn; and Bailey Knight. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Rigby Jones Kuhn. She is also survived by her sisters, Hilda Sosa and Emilia Valles; her brother, Salvador Fernandez; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory. She was preceded in death by her husband, Enrique O. Flores; her daughter, Leticia Flores; her parents, Manolo and Leocadia Fernandez; her stepfather, John Graham; and her brothers, Manuel and Peter Fernandez. Mirella’s legacy is one of compassion, generosity, warmth, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a family strengthened by her example and a community made better by her presence. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will continue to guide and comfort those who loved her.
