Norma Jean Ramirez Banks, 79, went home to Jesus on January 12, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who was beloved by everyone who was blessed to know her. Born on July 28, 1945, to Oscar Ramirez and Herminia Castañon Ramirez, Norma became the baby of the family, born three minutes after her twin brother, George. She attended Ogden Elementary, Irving Middle School, Jefferson High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary’s University. She lived in San Antonio until a blind date introduced her to the love of her life - Dan. Dan and Norma traveled to Turkey and Crete courtesy of the U.S. Air Force before returning to build a family in Texas. After 30 years of marriage, rearing four children, and relocating to a few towns they settled back in San Antonio. A devoted follower of Jesus, Norma delighted in giving to others. From handmade greeting cards to homemade tamales, she was always putting others before herself. She loved her children, loved her church family, and adored her grandkids. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her sister-in-law, Patsy Ramirez; her brother-in-law, Fred Flores; and nephews Jon and Michael. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Daniel Banks; daughters, Pam Humphrey (Mike), Penny Currie (Stephen); sons, John, Daniel Jr. (Brenna); sister, Yolanda Flores; brothers, Oscar Ramirez, Jr., George Ramirez (Felipa); 12 grandchildren; and many cousins and friends. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 am at Fellowship Bible Church, 8603 Huebner Rd., San Antonio, Texas, 78240. A private burial will take place at Ft.
