Ofelia R. Pena, 77 of San Antonio, our beloved mother and wife, went to eternal rest and entered heaven's gates on April 7, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She married the love of her life, Viviano Samudio Pena, 56 years ago and together they raised a beautiful and loving family. Ofelia lovingly referred to Viviano as "Viejo" or "Honey". Ofelia was a business woman at heart. You could find her selling items at the Mission Flea Market and especially her annual baskets during Valentines and Easter. She found joy in golden second hand finds at garage sales. Ofelia never met a stranger and always striking up a conversation with everyone. She had a smile that lit up a room. Despite her hectic schedule, family and friends were Ofelia's true passion and delight. Through her, the family knows what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Ofelia always gave way more than she received. No matter how tough things were, she always gave and gave to people. "God loves a cheerful giver" 2 Corinthians 9:7 And how about those Bibs! The grandkids laughed as they remembered that as little ones they all had to wear baby bibs because she did not want them to get dirty. She was preceded in death by her parents, Santiago Riojas and Maria F. Vera. Her brother, Raul Riojas; Sister, Mary Lou Riojas. And her grandson, Nicholas (Nicky) Pena. Ofelia is survived by her beautiful Sisters, whom she spoke to everyday, Susie Machuca and Teresa Montalvo. She is also survived by her children and grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Jeanette M. Flores (Rudy), Viviano Pena Jr. (Sabrina), Mark A. Pena; grandchildren, Rudy B. Flores, Alexander B. Pena, Isaac Pena, Mark Pena Jr., John Pena, Jasmine Pena, Maddison Pena and numerous extended family members and friends. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days, especially her neighbors Mr. & Mrs. Dionicio Reyes, Mr. & Mrs. Ignacio Mendoza and the staff at Guardian Healthcare especially Randy Bennit and Clarissa Barasa. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Mission Park Funeral Park South. Interment at Mission Burial Park South.
