René Román Limón passed away after a courageous battle with stomach cancer at the age of 62 on August 3, 2024. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 22, 1962. René attended St. Henry’s Catholic School and St. Philip’s of Jesus Catholic School. He was most proud of graduating from Central Catholic High School Class of 1980. René attended St. Mary’s University 1984-1988 where he became a member of the national fraternity Delta Sigma Phi. To say that René lived life to the fullest is an understatement. When he showed up, that's when the party started! You couldn’t help but want to be around him to see what he would do next. He was a friend to everyone from janitor to executive, young and old. René had a gift of making people laugh and smile. He was unforgettable. One of his many passions was cooking incredible feasts such as barbeque brisket and enormous pans of lasagna for his friends and family. When you received one of his masterful creations, you knew René cared about you. René’s greatest legacy would be his three daughters, Veronica, Gabriela and Vanessa and five grandchildren with one on the way. He loved them with everything in him. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for them. He was so proud of the women they became and took full credit for them being wonderful! René is preceded in death by his beautiful mother Elvira T. Limón (March 2017). He is survived by his father Anthony Limón Sr., brother Anthony Limón Jr., (Levette), sister Letty Limón McCardle, (Douglas), daughters Veronica Limón Garcia (Jordan), Gabriela Limón and Vanessa Limón Ramirez (Jason), grandchildren Naomi, Mordecai, Jude, Jonah and Edward (Teddy). A special thank you goes out to René’s CCHS classmate, and good friend Joseph Marrota M.D., plus the Metropolitan Methodist Hospital Oncology ward nurses and staff for the excellent care they gave him throughout his illness. Funeral Services will be Monday, August 19th, 2024 Mission Park South 1700 SE Military Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78214. Visitation: 10-11am, Prayer Service: 11-12pm, Burial: 12-1pm. A luncheon gathering will be held immediately after burial at Holy Name Activity Center 3814 Nash Blvd, 78223.
