Rosario Diaz Vallejo: A Life Worth Rejoicing Over and Celebrating in Victory Rosario Diaz Vallejo passed away on March 2, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on July 23, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas, Rosario lived a life defined by deep faith, steadfast love for her family, and a lifelong dedication to serving others. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life and the source of her strength, guiding her in every role she embraced. Rosario devoted more than three decades to education as an elementary school teacher, retiring after 35 years as a respected Master Teacher. Throughout her career, she shaped the hearts and minds of countless students, offering not only knowledge but patience, encouragement, and compassion to every child who entered her classroom. Her commitment to service extended far beyond the school walls. Rosario was an ordained minister who faithfully served her church, Highland Park Assembly, and community, offering wisdom, prayer, and support to those who needed it most. Even in the later years of her life, her passion for learning never faded. At the time of her passing, she was actively pursuing her doctorate degree, continuing her lifelong pursuit of knowledge and her desire to uplift others through teaching and ministry. As the oldest of seven siblings, Rosario carried a natural sense of responsibility and care for her family. She cherished time spent with her brothers and sisters and valued the strong bonds they shared. She also treasured the friendships she built over the years, drawing strength and joy from gatherings filled with laughter and conversation. Her church family held a special place in Rosario’s heart, and she faithfully poured her time, faith, and encouragement into the lives of those within her community. Yet nothing brought her more happiness than time spent with her own family. She loved family barbecues filled with stories and laughter, traveling with her husband, and creating cherished memories with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband, Manuel Vallejo III; her children, Marissa Guevara (Michael), Vanessa Bazan (Roberto Jr.), and Manuel Vallejo IV (Nohemi); and her beloved grandchildren, Michael Remy Guevara, Olivia Melody Guevara, Manuel Vallejo V, Emilia Rose Vallejo, and Ruby Jubilee Bazan. She is also survived by her siblings, Sylvia Mireles (Victor), Rebecca Treviño (Antonio), Daniel Diaz Jr., Frank Diaz, Maria Elena Perez (Rodolfo), and Nancy Post; her aunt, Gloria Solis; and many other loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Consuelo Diaz; her parents-in-law, Manuel and Maria Vallejo Jr.;her nephew, Anthony Jared Treviño; her niece, Tracy Diaz, and her brother-in-law, Patrick Dean Post. Rosario’s life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and unconditional love. As a teacher, minister, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she left a lasting imprint on the lives of all who knew her. A service to celebrate Rosario’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 11, at Mercy Church, 8311 S. Zarzamora St., San Antonio, TX 78224. Public viewing will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by the service from 7:00–9:00 p.m. A private burial will be held the following morning.
