It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, grandfather, friend, Rudolph Trevino who was born in Luling, Texas on April 29, 1952. Rudolph was a US Army veteran who worked and retired from Kelly Air Force Base. Rudolph, also known as “Rudy T.” was well respected in the automotive and racing community. He attended the races not only as a spectator but also to plan for his next challenge. He was always in search of car parts by visiting auto shows and swap meets thinking about his next BIG project. Rudolph was also a longtime member of the Bandidos MC where he was also well respected. He enjoyed riding and traveling around the nation and the world with his “Brothers”. There wasn't a day that went by where someone was reaching out to him to talk about hotrods or asking him how to fix an issue with their car, something he very much enjoyed. My dad could sit for hours talking about race cars and what he would have to do or how he would do something to make it run faster or better. The last few years he would get up and go have a taco and Dr. Pepper at one of his three favorite restaurants where they enjoyed his company before starting the day in his garage, building something or fixing something because he felt like he had to continue working and didn’t like sitting around doing nothing even though he was retired except, of course, watching NHRA drag racing on the weekends. Everyone that knew my dad always associated him with racing. He was all about building and customizing race cars, what he loved to do since the age of 13 when his father bought him his first 4 door 55 Chevy. The outcomes were his dreams of building cars using his mind despite having dropped out of school because of his dyslexia, but he was a fast learner and very determined. Everyone that knew my dad knew that he was all about racing. Building and fabricating his own design, a passion he made sure everyone knew by building unique things and never before seen stuff or making something go faster. Not only did my dad modify race cars but he also built go-karts and even a hotrod riding lawnmower, imagine that! That's just what made my dad, Rudolph, so unique and well known for his knowledge locally and around the world. There wasn't a thing he couldn't accomplish because he enjoyed making the impossible “possible” that would leave people wondering how he did it. From staying up late at night in the garage, 100 degree temperatures or freezing weather as long as he had his fan or heater, nothing stopped him from doing what he loved, not even his bad heart! He will be greatly missed for all the stories he told, the knowledge and skill he taught, but also the scolding he gave everyone for not doing something right when they weren’t doing something wrong. lol. This is what made “Rudy”, my dad, “who he is, and no other person like him. “Priceless”. Everyone he met and talked with over his lifetime considered him to be like a father figure. His legacy will never be forgotten and it will continue with his two sons, the “oldest” Louis and Rudy Jr. followed by his “little monkey” granddaughter, Zoe. He will also be missed by his sister Joanne who reached out daily to joke around with him. His other sister Martha, brother Edward and numerous nieces, nephews and of course his friends here and around the world that had the pleasure of getting to know him. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone who knew him and for being a part of his EXCITING life. His Son “Louis” To honor my dad’s memory, a visitation for family and friends will begin on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels Medical Center, and for the motorcycle community on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a celebration of life at 6:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels Medical Center. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
