Santiago "Jim" Muzquiz Beloved husband, devoted father and cherished brother & friend passed away peacefully early Sunday morning February 1, 2026 with his wife by his side. He was 77 He proudly served in the US Navy for 4 years. He was a machinist mate aboard the destroyer USS BOYD DD 445. He was a proud patriot and he especially loved flying the US Flag in the front yard. He was the heart and glue of the family. An extraordinary man of his word with strong values and principals. He was genuine and spoke his mind with honesty and love. He offered wise advice and heartfelt counsel to his wife, his children, grandchildren and friends. He was also a man of deep faith. He came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior and accepted him wholeheartedly. His children and his grandchildren were his world. He was so proud of all of them and all their accomplishments. He especially enjoyed the times he spent with them on fishing trips and teaching them to play chess and spades. He also enjoyed the laughter and excitement that the games would bring. He was a great father and grandfather. He loved them all so much. His Love story with his wife Estella began in 1992. Their partnership was rooted in affection, respect for one another, humor and devotion. They shared many ups and downs during their 30 yrs together. Through the grace of God they overcame all challenges. He was happy living in the slower paced Rio Grande Valley. The fact that the Gulf was close was an extra plus. Even though they were a blended family, they built a home filled with love and memories that will continue to inspire their children and grandchildren. Brothers in law, Arnold de los Santos, Armando de los Santos, Joe & Janie de los Santos, Alphonso & Gisela de los Santos, Robert & Liza de los Santos and Sister in law Nora A de los Santos Along with several nieces and nephews and friends that he loved very much. He is preceded in death by his parents, Acension and Francisa Muzquiz and his brother Julio Muzquiz Family and Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Tuesday February 17 from 4p-5p for family and 5p-8p for friends at Mission Park Funeral Chapel Cherry Ridge, 3401 Cherry Ridge Dr, San Antonio, Tx Wednesday Feb 18 services will be held from 9a-10a and will proceed to Fort Sam Houston for burial, Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in the immeasurable gift of Jim's life. Memories will forever live in our hearts. His love and presence will forever guide those that he cherished. John 14:27 Peace I leave you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid.
