Teodora “Dora” Salazar went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2020, at the age of 78. She was born on November 4, 1941 in Poteet, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband, Domingo Perez; parents, Willie Soto, Sr. and Dolores Soto; sister, Elvira Morales; brother, Willie Soto, Jr. & Albert Soto; daughters, Viola Hernandez and Esmeralda Amaya, and son, Angel Salazar. Dora is survived by her loving children, Yolanda A. Mendoza (Martin), Robert Salazar (Nettie-Ann); Lucinda Salazar. Gilbert Salazar, Charles Salazar (Jennifer), Georgia Mae Singleton (Daryll), Chris Salazar, Christina Salazar (Jose), Duran Salazar (Sarah), Alex Salazar, Rudy Salazar and Angel Salazar; brothers, Felix Soto and Roberto Soto and Rosita Soto Bosques; 33 grandchildren, Isabel, Sandra, Christina, Lucy, Jose, Dana, Fabian Joe, Jenny Marie, Stephanie Jean, Stephen Conrad, Carol Lynn, Stacy Marie, Clarissa Nicole, Faith, Grace, Nicolas, Isabela, Joe Bryan, Crystal Beatriz, Michael Luis, Konnor O’Neal, Mason O’Neal, Deandra Marie, Jose, Rene Azul, Valerie, Veronica, Rudy, Jessica Ann, John Anthony, Ricardo Antonio, Jose Antonio and Tiffany Soto; 28 great-grandchildren, and other extended family members, nieces and nephews. Dora was born in Poteet, TX. She grew up in Poteet until she married her first husband and moved away. She spent most of her life in San Antonio living on the west side of town. Dora loved to play the penny and nickel slot machines at the Kikapoo Casino in Eagle Pass. She loved traveling with her children, and sister Elvira to casinos all over the US including Vegas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. She loved visiting her brother Roberto, and Felix as often as she was able. Dora was a fantastic cook and loved to cook for her family. She hated being idle, so she kept herself busy cleaning and redecorating her home. She loved dancing especially cumbias and polkas while listening to Tejano music and oldies. She had a green thumb and loved her plants and flowers. Most days if weather permitted, she would sit outside and enjoy the sun. As a young adult she worked doing crop work and travelled all over the US as well as being a provider for the elderly. We would like to thank God for all of the time we were allowed to have our Mother. She was a blessing to us all. We will miss you Mom and can only hope to see you again one day. Visitation will be Monday, November 16, 2020 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. Services to conclude at church.
