Thomas Braden Black III Thomas Braden Black III, 84, of San Antonio, entered into God’s kingdom on October 15th, 2023. He was born January 20, 1939, to Thomas B. Black & Alma Black. Tommy, the most loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather is survived by sons and spouses: Duane Glen and Sylvia Black, James Darrell Black, Douglas Ray and Deborah Black of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Ryan Black, Nick and JJ Chapman, Lee and Kristin Chapman, Brandon and Tracy Cogburn, Chloe Barnard, and Kylie Barnard; great-grandchildren Brittani Chapman, Travis Chapman, Madisyn Chapman, Aynslie Chapman, Britton Chapman, Savannah Chapman and Stone Chapman, Bryson Cogburn, and Addison Cogburn; and great-great-granddaughters McKynlee Leal and Crimson Rose Martinez . Upon graduation from South San High School, Tommy met and married the love of his life Janette Maxine Krause. Together they settled in the San Antonio / Somerset area to raise their family. Tommy went from being hired temporarily to eventually owning Samuel Dean Sheet Metal, Inc. He served on both the local and state levels of the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. Was a Lifetime Member of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Was active with Somerset Youth Livestock Organization, Bexar County and Atascosa County Stock Shows. Tommy was a member of the Oak Island Methodist Church. Tommy had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation, and his laugh was infectious to everyone around him. A man of many stories all that would draw out inspiring conclusions. As a man of true integrity, Tommy would never budge under any circumstances, his goal in life and work was to do what was right and fix any mistakes. A man with a simple taste of jeans and nice shirt, he focused on providing his children with the best life possible without worrying about himself. Tommy took great pride in his family, his work and his life with Maxine. Tommy was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family, that loves him dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever engrained in all he knew.
