Virginia Rosilind Schneider went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2024 and passed away in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on August 6, 1936 in Midway Texas to William and Janie Charlton. She is preceded in death by her parents. Virginia was married to Harold Keyser in 1954 who is now deceased. She remarried Leon C Schneider who was preceded in death by Virginia Rosilind Schneider. Her surviving children are: Edward Keyser, Dale Keyser, Myrna Harrell, and spouse Steven Harrell, Jennifer Allen, and spouse Kenneth Allen. Surviving sisters are: Eloise Goss, Jean Pairett, & Judy Whitley. Proceeded in death by Rosilind Virginia Schneider are Evelyn Reese Porterfield, Doris Ellis and Nelda Dooley. She had 10 Grandchildren: Tanya, Willie, Travis, Kristy, Jeffrey, Leslie, Dakota, Steven Jr, Stephanie, and Heather. She had 12 Great Grandchildren: Brandon, Alex, Anne, Willie Jr, Gene Andrew, Adrian, Leslie had a boy and a girl no names provided, Severus, Hannah, Gabriella, and Venus Rose. Virginia Rosilind Schneider lived in Midway Texas up to a teenager and then moved to San Antonio Texas where she lived the duration of her life. Her Father William C Charlton was an Elder of the Harlandale Church of Christ for many years, and her mother Janie Charlton was a Sunday School Teacher. Her parents were very well known in the community, and everyone knew them and her six siblings. Virginia was raised in a Christian home environment and was brought up in the Church of Christ. She had the love for the Lord, and enjoyed helping others. Virginia graduated from High School at South San Antonio High School. Right after High School she landed a job where she worked at the Epress News Downtown San Antonio for many years as a legal secretary. Later in life she worked other jobs after an injury to her back and was unable to work. Once she got back on her feet and had the ability to work, she worked other jobs, then she became an employee of Walmart and worked there for 20 years. She loved cats, outdoors, fishing, camping, swimming, she was an excellent seamstress, crocheted, and sewed for family, friends and Church projects, she loved planting flowers, working in the garden. She definitely had a green thumb and could bring anything back to life. Virginia loved her cats so much she made a cat room for them. She would bring home any injured cat to nurture them back to health or they would just show up at her door. God must have known she loved animals. She loved wildlife: Elephants, Zebras, and Giraffes. Virginia loved western movies, most foods especially her pies and cakes & could make the best lemon meringue & coconut pies. On a sweet note, her favorite Gospel song was Because He Lives, How Great Thou Art, & The Old Rugged Cross. Virginia loved to sing the Gospel song Count your Blessing: Count your blessings, name them 1 by 1 Count your blessings see what God has done, count your blessings name them 1 by 1 Count your many blessings see what God hath done. She learned that from her mother Janie Charlton and she too would always do the same thing moving around the house humming the song. Later in life she got dementia and suffered from other health issues. She was admitted in 2018 at Normandy Terrace Nursing Home where she lived until her death on April 1, 2024. The family will miss her very much. May she rest in peace.
