Virginia Lee Nielsen Stark, warm, loving, kind wife, mother, aunt and confidant to many, passed from our life to Heaven on Christmas Day, December 25, 2013. Vee, as she was called, was born on July 11, 1926, in San Antonio, Texas, to her parents, Lars Christian Nielsen and Myrtle Edith Nielsen, nee Nelson, as the fifth of seven children. She was 87 years old. Preceding Vee into her new life were her parents; her husband Joseph Paul Stark; her brothers and sisters, Dorotea LeCrone, Henry Nielsen and wife Jean, Albert Nielsen, Chris Nielsen and Betty Scholl and husband Ernest E. Scholl, Jr.; as well as her niece, Linda Nielsen; and nephew, Chris Alan Nielsen. Vee is survived by her daughter, Jo Gail Stark; almost daughter, Kelley White Grose and her husband Tim and their children, Maisie, Carson and Griffin; brother, Roy Nielsen and wife Janelle; former sister-in-law Bobbie Magers; and brother-in-law, David R. Stark and his wife Dorothy. She is also survived by more than 85 nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren. Vee finished her last year at Thomas Edison High School in 1944 with classes in the mornings, attended school at Draughon's Business College in the afternoon, and then went to her job. At 16, she had been hired and worked part-time as a typist at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Vee worked full-time for "The Telephone Company" for 17 years. Vee and Joe married on February 17, 1951, at Zion Lutheran Church of San Antonio. They were together almost 51 years. Her hobbies included gardening of flowers and vegetables, sewing and camping, as well as spoiling those around her. She had a special talent for this with small children and animals. She was a member of the San Antonio Lutheran Coronation Association since 1975, and attended the Edison High School reunions each year. She will be missed by many. Services The family will receive friends on Friday, December 27, 2013, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 9:00 AM, at Mission Burial Park North Mausoleum Chapel. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North.
