Virginia Grace Tucker was born on March 13, 1931, in Prosper, Texas. She was the second-oldest of six children and enjoyed school and roller skating in her youth. She married her high school sweetheart, Henry Keith Tucker, in 1949, and together they raised four beautiful children. After their children were grown, Virginia enrolled at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio and earned a bachelor's degree in education. Virginia taught kindergarten in San Antonio for over 20 years. When she officially retired, she wasn’t quite ready to stop teaching, so she became a substitute teacher. Many of her students called her Mrs. T. Virginia loved road trips and wildflowers, and to explore our beautiful city and the Hill Country, including LBJ State Park, Pedernales Falls, and Lost Maples, along with national parks across the country. She traveled with her sister Patsy, her daughters, and her granddaughters, including trips to Washington state, Arizona, New Mexico, Las Vegas, and Graceland. She cherished the freedom of the open road and loved her silver Corvette she affectionally called “The Silver Bullet”. She also traveled internationally, including to England, Scotland, Sweden, and Norway, and loved meeting new people and exploring new places. Virginia loved her church, Southside Baptist Church, and all her friends there. She loved reading and all things mysteries. An animal lover to her core, Virginia adored dogs and cats and never met a stray she would not bring home. Most of all, Virginia loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her immense joy. Virginia was called to eternal rest on November 24, 2025 at 94 ½ years old. She will be missed by all who knew her. Virginia is survived by her daughters Sandra (John)Williamson, Ginia (David) Littlepage, and Toni (Don) Thompson; her grandchildren Lisa (Daniel) Guerrero, Christi (Angel) Salgado, Farah (Ben) Rhoads, Jessica (Jon) Ridge, Jennifer (Darius) Thompson, and Wesley Thompson; her great-grandchildren Asha, Erin, Ruby, Evan, and Hector. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Keith Tucker, her son Henry K. Tucker Jr., her sisters and brother, and numerous other relatives. A memorial and celebration of Virginia’s life will be held Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, at 11 a.m. with a luncheon immediately following at Southside Baptist Church at 2010 South Loop 1604 E. in San Antonio, Texas 78264.
