Viviana Dolores "Lola" Brown was born on December 2, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas, to Jesus and Alejandra (Casillas) Delgadillo. She passed away on February 8, 2026, after a battle with dementia. Lola was a smart, diligent, and persevering woman. She took pride in graduating from Little Flower Catholic School and had been a dedicated parishioner at St. Paul's for many years. While still in school, she started working and studied during bus rides to and from her job. After a lengthy career with Radiology and Associates, she retired. However, missing her work so much, she returned to work again and then retired once more. She enjoyed engaging with the community and valued the time spent with friends and family. Demonstrating her dedication to service, she and Don were members of the Optimus Society, where she served as president of the Optimisses. She was also active in the Alter Society. Before Don passed away, they owned a nightclub and a finance company together. Lola’s dignity, strength, and gracious spirit will be remembered forever. Her infectious laugh, which lit up her face, and her capacity to make everyone feel welcome and at ease made her a treasured figure. The joyful times she created for her loved ones will always be cherished. As we remember her, may her spirit inspire us to live with kindness and grace every day. Lola is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Donald L. Brown; her sons, Kurt and Kyle Brown; her parents; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Maria Luisa and Julio Esquivel, Alice and Guadalupe Castillo, Lillie and Ignacio Garcia, and Jovita Reyes. She is survived by her granddaughters, Ariana and Alanis Brown; her great-grandson, Rowan Brumfield; her nieces, Rita Guerrero (husband, Philip) and Diana L. Sanchez; her nephew, Jesus A. Garcia; and other loved family members and friends, all of whom she impacted deeply. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1314 Fair Ave., San Antonio, TX 78223, beginning at 11:00 A.M., followed by a rosary at 11:30 A.M. and a funeral mass at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North, 20900 W I 10, San Antonio, TX 78257. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Lola’s memory be made to The Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation or to Hispanas Unidas.
